Regular Concrete

Regular concrete, also called plain concrete or gray concrete, is the most common and basic form of concrete used in construction. It’s a mixture of: Cement (the binder) Sand (fine aggregate) Gravel or crushed stone (coarse aggregate) Water When these materials are mixed, they create a paste that hardens over time through a chemical process called hydration, forming a strong, durable building material.

Where Is Regular Concrete Used? Regular concrete is used everywhere — including: Driveways Sidewalks Foundations Garage floors Slabs and curbs Roads and commercial construction.

Benefits of Regular Concrete:

  • Strong and durable Handles heavy loads, traffic, and weather.
  • Cost-effective Inexpensive compared to decorative options.
  • Versatile Can be poured into almost any shape or form.
  • Low maintenance Requires little upkeep when properly installed.

Things to Consider: Plain appearance: Just a smooth, gray surface — no color, texture, or pattern. Can crack: All concrete can develop cracks over time due to settling, shrinkage, or temperature changes. Control joints help reduce this. Surface wear: Without sealing, it may absorb stains or wear faster in high-traffic or weather-exposed areas. Slippery when wet: Especially if it has a smooth finish.

For those of you who are conscious about your budget. Regular Concrete will provide you with a fresh new look, instant curb appeal and considerate to your wallet. It’s practical and very low maintenance. Regular concrete can be finished one of two ways, Broom Finish or Smooth Finish. No Sealer is required.
